Free Games to learn Multiplication Facts

Are your students struggling with multiplication tables? If so, this post is just what you need.  As an educator, I can’t deny the importance of learning multiplication facts to improve problem solving and overall math skills. That’s why, I’m sharing my top 5 math games to make learning multiplication facts engaging and enjoyable for your students.

Multiplication Bingo

One of my favorite activities to practice multiplication facts is Multiplication Bingo , which I often play with my entire class. Each student receives a bingo board, and as I call out multiplication facts, they mark the corresponding answers on their cards. The first student to complete a row or column shouts “Bingo” and wins the game. This interactive and competitive approach makes learning multiplication enjoyable and effective for students.

Multiplication War Game

This game has a similar format to classic card games and requires a regular deck of cards. Here are the rules of this game:

  1. In this game, students are paired up and each turns over one card.
  2. The first student who successfully multiplies the two numbers on the cards gets to keep both cards and place them at the bottom of the deck.
  3. If both players solve the multiplication fact at the same time, they will each flip another card.
  4. The first player to correctly solve the new challenge gets to keep all four cards.
  5. The student with the most cards at the end of the game wins.

Multiplication Roll and Race  is an interesting math game that combines dice rolling and multiplication practice. In this game, you roll two dice and multiply the results to determine how far you advance on the playing board. The goal is to race other players to the finish line while answering multiplication questions on the move. It’s a fast-paced and engaging game that improves your multiplication skills while also honing your rapid thinking and decision-making skills.

Multiplication Quiz Show

My students love jeopardy and quiz shows. I often host a quiz show-style games where my students compete to answer multiplication questions.
